How this calculator works
Landed shipping cost per item = (shipping + packaging + handling + other shipment fees) ÷ saleable units.
Worked example
A $65 total fulfillment cost spread across 20 saleable units adds $3.25 to each unit.
How to measure
- Use the full shipment charge, not a quoted base rate.
- Include only costs that belong to this shipment.
- Use saleable units after expected loss or samples.
Common mistakes
- Leaving out handling labor.
- Dividing by cartons rather than saleable units.
- Mixing tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive inputs.
Planning note: This result is an estimate, not a carrier quote. Equipment, services, limits and rounding rules can vary. Confirm operational decisions with the relevant provider.
